My experience and knowledge of processes within a tax organisation, business change management and IT are helping me during my assignments. Many issues within the world of tax administrations seem to be similar to those in other public agencies. For this reason, I am broadening my scope to them.

(Because all my projects are in English my profile page is also in English)

My experience and knowledge of processes within a tax organisation, business change management and IT are helping me during my assignments. Many issues within the world of tax administrations seem to be similar to those in other public agencies. For this reason, I am broadening my scope to them.

What motivates me in the work I do

During my study for Certified Public Auditor, I got interested in processes and how to structure organisations. I believe that a business change and the introduction of Information technology always start with the question why there should be a change anyway. Only when this is clear, you can start finding answers on what and how it should be changed.

Saying this, my experience is that there is no big difference between the challenges in emerging countries compared to the Dutch market. Countries I recently worked for are: Mozambique, Botswana, Ghana, Uganda, India, Aruba and Cameroon.

The fact that PBLQ's mission is exactly my original drifter to work for the Dutch Tax Authority, namely doing something for public interest, made the step PBLQ quite easy. The reason to choose for internationally services is founded on the extension of my interest for countries with other cultures and the impact of this on public organisations. To help these countries in their development to become financially independent of donor countries is a formidable challenge. Professionalising their administrations and agencies is a good step forward in this process.

How I am doing my work

The fact that I am result oriented, analytical and people oriented helps me a lot. I want to gain experience by sharing experience and last but not least learning by listening and watching.

IT only supports

During my career I was involved in several business change projects, including IT implementations, both in the Netherlands as in African countries. The most important lesson I learned, is that IT can help you with a solution, but it will never be the solution.
